- Academy - U9-U10 teams is a pre-competitive program that is a perfect fit for the player, regardless of ability, who is committed to becoming a better soccer player and has a passion for the sport. The program is designed to prepare younger players for competitive soccer which starts at U11.
- Competitive - U11-U15 teams, providing coaching and player development aligned with the values and attributes of the world's beautiful game. All Competitive Teams have a paid coach and play games in the Colorado Soccer Association's Advanced League.
- High School Competitive - U16-U19 competitive soccer in the season opposite the high school soccer season.
Refer to this chart for the team age based on the player's age group. For players younger than U9, contact a local recreation center, such Wheat Ridge or Denver, for recreational options.
U15 League Age Group Cycle
Colorado Soccer will be expanding the U14/U15 age group cycle, combining U14 and U15, creating a U15 division for both fall & spring. Expanding the age group cycle catches players who would lose half the state league season due to CHSAA high school season. This also gives freshman an option to play should they not make their high school team.
U14/15 Girls and Boys - August 1, 2011-July 31, 2013
Avalanche SC Player Development Model
At Avalanche Soccer Club, we believe great players are built by developing the whole person—not just the athlete.
Our approach goes beyond technical training to intentionally shape character, confidence, and connection, creating an environment where players grow both on and off the field.
Developing the Player. Growing the Person

We use the game of soccer as a vehicle to teach life skills that extend far beyond competition.
- Teamwork
Players learn how to support one another, communicate effectively, and work toward a shared goal. - Respect
We foster respect for teammates, coaches, opponents, and the game itself—building habits that carry into everyday life. - Inclusion
Every player belongs. We create an environment where players feel valued, supported, and confident to be themselves. - Accountability & Character
Players are encouraged to take ownership of their actions, show resilience, and lead by example.
Centralized Training Model

Our Centralized Training Model brings multiple teams together in age- and stage-appropriate groups to train at the same time and location.
Sessions are led by multiple coaches and supported by a supervising lead coach, ensuring consistency, collaboration, and a higher level of development across the club.
What this means for players:
- More Coaching, More Feedback
Access to multiple coaches increases individual attention and diverse perspectives. - Consistent Club-Wide Standards
All players are trained within the same philosophy, style, and expectations. - Level-Based Training Opportunities
Players are challenged at the appropriate level within their training environment—not limited to just their team. Advanced players are given opportunities to lead by elevating those around them, while developing players build confidence through meaningful success. All players benefit from exposure to different teammates, varying speeds of play, and a wider range of problem-solving situations, accelerating overall development. - Collaborative Coaching Environment
Coaches work together, share ideas, and align on player development priorities. - One club experience
Players train within a connected environment that strengthens Avalanche SC identity and culture.
Avalanche Approach:
Structured, intentional sessions where players are both
supported and challenged, guided by a unified coaching staff.
