Congratulations to Chase Krohl, Kara DiMaria, and Mia Fitzsimmons for making the 2019 Colorado Select pools. Colorado Select is part of the Olympic Development Program, a US Youth Soccer program designed for identifying and training elite players throughout the country offering Colorado elite players’ opportunities for added development and player recognition. Selected players train with ODP coaches in addition to their club coaches and will have the opportunity to attend regional and national tournaments and camps representing Colorado and the western region.
Chase is on our 06 Boys Platinum team and this is his first year making the pool, he said the tryouts were very competitive with over 100 participants in his age group. He’s excited to get to train with high level players from other clubs.
Kara is on our 08 Girls Platinum team and this is also her first year making the pool. She said the tryouts were tough but the trainings so far are fun and challenging. She said it’s also hard to be competing in an environment where she doesn’t know the other players but she’s looking forward to the challenge and growing as a player.
Mia is on our 05 Girls Platinum team and this is her third year making the pool. When asked what advice she has for those new to the pool she said to remember they’re good enough to be there and soak in all of the opportunity it brings. Mia was invited to regional camp for the 18/19 season however it was cut short due to a concussion she sustained during one of the trainings. She said the camp was the most competitive environment she’s ever experienced and she’s looking forward to working hard to get an invite to the 19/20 camp in June 2020.
Congratulations Chase, Kara, and Mia on your efforts and accomplishments!
